BIO

Melody Evans has studied and lived in many areas of the country, recently moving to St. Louis.   After studying for four years at the San Antonio School of Art and Craft, she started her career as a potter but soon moved into making sculpture and large scale installations which employed ceramics and other materials – a change prompted by her pursuit of a Master’s degree in the influential area of Northern California.  Evans studied with nationally acclaimed artists Robert Brady, and Stephen Kaltenbach, and has received numerous awards in her career; of late receiving first place in the National Visions in Clay, awarded at the University of the Pacific in CA. She is represented by the California gallery, Solomon Dubnick, and is a listed artist in Art in America. Her work is represented in numerous public and private collections, including the Paul F. Dauer Ceramic Collection.
